NEWLANDS, Grand Cayman (ICCI) – For almost half a century the International College of the Cayman Islands (ICCI) has been committed to helping Caymanians build their financial future and strengthen Cayman through education. This dedication is born from the belief that the people of Cayman are it’s greatest asset.
On July 10, 2017, ICCI will continue this long tradition by launching the JumpStart
Summer Program. JumpStart is designed to help high school graduates prepare for success in the tertiary education environment by focusing on three key areas: Mathematics, English and College Survival Skills.
Many students need a little help bridging the gap between high school completion and college studies. JumpStart will enhance the skills and confidence students need to do well on college entrance exams, avoid remedial courses and be successful in college.
Using industry leading standardized tests, the program will help students assess their academic proficiency and offer expert guidance and support toward college success.
At the end of the six week program, students will be re-examined for academic growth and improvement as well as preparedness for the rigors of college. Students will then be offered a place at ICCI or be guided toward finding a place at a tertiary educational institution of their choosing.
While the total cost per student is only $300 KYD, by partnering with businesses in the
community ICCI will offer 25 young Caymanians an opportunity to JumpStart their educational future at zero cost.
